Getting Around the Project Dashboard

Every project in the system has a "dashboard" that you can access by clicking on the project's name in the Management...Project List screen. All of the information on a specific project can be found from the Project Dashboard. The dashboard is a mini-website dedicated to that specific project. It pops up in its own window, it has its own menu and even its own set of project-specific reports.

You navigate through the dashboard by selecting items from it's dedicated menu, so it works just like the main BigTime screen. And, just like the main BigTime screen, the menu selections a user sees depend on their system rights. A user with full rights will see a dashboard menu similar to the one shown here.

The project's display name shows up beneath the menu items, and there's a you-are-here link at the far right-hand side of them menu to let you know which screen you are currently looking at. Just point at any of the menu items on this page to take a look at the screens which are available to you. If you'd like to close a project's dashboard and return to the main program screen, just choose the Exit link.

We'll review some of the most important aspects of the project dashboard in the next section. Then, we'll cover various parts of the project dashboard in more detail.

Keep in mind that the project dashboard is a mini web-site that's dedicated to a specific project, so you can click through the menu(s) at the top of any page in the dashboard to get an idea of the information that's available to you.
