BigTime's invoicing engine can be used to compute the hourly rate used to create invoices for your customers, and that billing rate is setup on a project by project basis.
If your firm bills based on the person doing the work, then you can setup standard employee rates in the HR/Accounting section of the general information page. BigTime supports up to five "standard" rates per employee (and an unlimited number of project-specific custom rates), and each of those five rates can be labelled to avoid confusion.
In the screen shot shown here, Joe Smith has 4 billing rates(a 2004 rate, a 2005 rate, and 2006 rate as well as a Discount rate). We can edit those rates and click the save button to change them at any time. For a complete discussion of how staff rates can be used in BigTime, take a look at the invoicing chapter.
